Love Communications recently held our annual March Forth company retreat — in person after a two-year hiatus! — with two new faces in attendance: Emily Nugent and Austin Facer.
Emily Nugent, Account Supervisor
From the Big Apple to the Beehive State, Emily Nugent has found a passion for helping brands share their products, events, and other happenings on a large scale. After graduating from Marist College, she moved to Manhattan and began her career in public relations, where she worked with globally recognized beauty and wellness brands.
After her fiancé, Rick, had the opportunity to relocate to Salt Lake City for his company, the couple packed up, headed west, and embraced their newfound space by adopting their puppy, Lucy. It didn’t take long for Nugent to make connections in Utah’s communications circles and a position as an Account Supervisor at Love Communications soon followed.
A native of Long Island, Nugent says some of the greatest thrills of her career have been seeing her efforts result in her valuable placements in major publications for her clients, as well as managing multi-channel campaigns for a major health care company.
When she’s not working, Nugent hits the slopes at Snowbird every weekend during the winter, hikes in the summer, and can be found reading a good book anytime in between.
Austin Facer, PR Coordinator
Austin Facer loves telling stories. It’s in his blood. His father, Dirk, a five-time Utah Sportswriter of the Year, made the frequent mistake of taking little Austin with him to work, allowing the writing bug to dig its teeth in from an early age.
Austin has spent most of his career in the media realm with stops at the Deseret News, KSL Sports, the Zone Sports Network, and ABC4, in addition to roles with the Utah Jazz, Salt Lake City Stars, Los Angeles Chargers, Salt Lake Bees, and the Amateur Athletic Union.
While he likes to joke that he has ‘sold out’ to the agency line of work in his new position at Love Communications, Austin is elated to continue his storytelling skills to drive the explosive growth that Utah is enjoying. He and his dad still keep an eye on the local sports world, with a blog and podcast they produce together.
A graduate of Viewmont High School and the University of Utah, Austin served a two-year mission in Anaheim, California, and loves returning to Orange County as often as he can.
