Altabank
Standing Against Domestic Violence
Love PR raises awareness and drives action to prevent domestic violence across Utah.

A Silent-and-Statewide PR Challenge
Utah faces a critical domestic violence crisis. Statistics from the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence show that 33.6% of Utah women and 21.4% of Utah men experience intimate partner violence in their lifetimes.
Altabank, a long-time Love partner, sought to elevate this cause and move beyond simple advocacy. The bank needed a high-impact strategy to reach residents across the state during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. They turned to our PR team to turn statistics into meaningful, urgent action.

Approach
Our team amplified the issue by securing a formal gubernatorial declaration and organizing a major event to create an emotional connection through survivor stories and expert testimony. This PR outreach strategy turned a policy initiative into a resonant public conversation.
- A formal gubernatorial declaration declared Oct. 2 Domestic Violence Awareness Day, after Love PR and Altabank collaborated with the Governor’s Office.
- A State Capitol press conference announced the declaration and featured a video message from Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson, who shared her personal connection to the cause.
- Humanizing data, rather than data points, highlighted compelling stories from Jennifer Campbell, Director of the Utah Domestic Violence Coalition, and Shonie Christiansen, an advocate and survivor.
- Ensured Utahns received crucial information on how to recognize and address domestic abuse.

Results
Our strategic communication efforts generated massive media coverage and reached millions of residents across the state. Utah’s four largest broadcast stations—KSTU, KTVX, KUTV, and KSL—covered the event. The project successfully established a foundation for sustained annual advocacy and future declarations.
